Independent controls
Each control has a separate musical role.
The slider defaults to ±6 st and supports ±24 st. Entering +12 expands it automatically; return within ±6 to select the smaller range. Switching ranges alone leaves pitch unchanged. Try -1 or -2 for a song that sits too high, or +1 or +2 for one too low. The complete mix shifts together.
Open Fine tune for small tuning differences. The range is -50 to +50 cents; 100 cents make a semitone. Use it to match a slightly sharp or flat recording to your instrument.
Tempo ranges from 50% to 200%, independently of pitch. At 80%, export lasts 1.25 times the original; at 125%, it lasts 80% as long.
Seek, jump five seconds, repeat the track, or mark A–B at least 0.25 seconds apart. Position is retained during adjustments. A–B affects listening only: WAV export processes the full track at the selected tempo, without cropping or writing repeats. Trim the source in an editor for a shorter export.
Practical uses
Try these starting points for your task.
Try a backing track one semitone higher or lower. Check the verse and highest chorus notes; the pitch changer cannot choose a key or assess your vocal range.
Transpose for another tuning, capo position, or singer. Keep tempo at 100% for key changes alone, or slow and loop difficult bars for practice.
Slow the phrase and mark A–B to transcribe notes, rhythm, or speech. Adjust cents if the recording differs slightly from your instrument’s tuning.
Export the settings you approved. The filename records the adjustment, making rehearsal copies easier to distinguish.
Know what will change

Quality checklist
Preview uses the same engine and settings as export. Check demanding passages before downloading.
Start with one semitone or a modest tempo change. Larger shifts can make artifacts more audible.
Choose semitones for a new key and cents for a small tuning correction. Note your final settings to reproduce them.
Loop sustained vocals, cymbals, or consonants and compare nearby settings. These details can expose artifacts hidden in a full mix.
Choose pitch at 100% tempo first, then adjust timing. This helps identify which control caused an unwanted change.
Test the downloaded WAV in its destination app. Keep the original so you can try a smaller shift later.
Clear input and output boundaries
Check input support and output limits before exporting.
Select one MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, or OGG file up to 80 MB. The browser supplies the decoder, so codec support can vary. If a replacement file fails to load, the alert names the failed file and the previous file that remains active. Your previous settings, audio, and existing download are retained. Check that active filename before listening or downloading, then select a compatible replacement. A successful load replaces the old workspace; a failed attempt does not leave a half-loaded song to export.
Export creates a separate 16-bit WAV. Pitch alone keeps the selected tempo and duration; tempo changes update the output length. WAV files can be larger than compressed inputs. A small MP3 can also use much more memory once decoded. The pitch changer checks a 384 MiB processing budget separately for loading and export: a file that previews successfully can still exceed the export budget at a slower tempo, because the output is longer. If export exceeds this budget, increase the tempo or choose a shorter source file. The loaded audio remains available for preview. There is no MP3 export selector. Create WAV stays disabled until pitch, cents, or tempo differs from the original. Changing a setting after rendering removes the old download.
The selected audio is decoded, previewed, and rendered in browser memory. Pitch Changer has no audio upload endpoint in the current service. Closing or reloading the page clears the working session. See the Privacy Policy for the wider site data policy.
